WPi is encased in a rust resistant aluminum alloy
body that is less than one inch thin, has rubber
sealants and lens protection that repels dust,
dirt, moisture -- in rain, in snow, in the pool,
on the beach -- or even underwater.
With a JIS Class 8 rating, the Optio waterproof
WPi can be submerged up to 1.5m (5 ft) underwater
for up to 30 minutes. That's right! That's longer
than you or I can hold our breath under water.
The Pentax WPi has 6MP resolution, 3x optical
zoom and macro as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.). A large
2 in. LCD monitor incorporates low reflection
technology and a backlighting system for easier
