EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

This Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7 Review is based on a production model. All sample images are unretouched, except where specified.

First-rate compact. The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7 looks professional in its sleek black or white medium compact body. This coat pocketable camera is well-designed and produces very good image quality.

The Lumix LX7 features a fully redesigned lens that is one of the brightest available on a compact camera: F1.4(W)-F2.3(T), making it an ideal compact camera for low light photography. The aperture is selectable using an Aperture Ring. Performance is fast and advanced photographers will find lots of manual controls for total exposure control. I found the Lumix LX7 to be an intuitive and dependable camera that consistently gave great results.

The Panasonic LX7 captures photos with low noise up to ISO 400, with detail preserved. ISO 800 is very usable and ISO 1600 is usable at smaller prints.

The Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX7 will appeal to enthusiast photographers desiring a compact digital camera with manual controls.
