The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12
is an ultra compact and stylish digital camera
that features 7.2MP resolution, a 3x optical zoom
(equivalent to 35-105mm on a 35mm film camera)
with image stabilization, and a large 2.5-in.
LCD. New for the FX Series is a redesigned grip
for more secure one-hand holding.
The FX12 features the MEGA O.I.S.
(Optical Image Stabilizer) system to fight against
hand-shake, the major cause of blurry images.
In addition, the FX12 compensates for the other
major cause of blurry images --subject movement
-- with the Intelligent ISO Control function which
detects subject movement and adjusts the ISO setting
and shutter speed to best suit the movement and
light conditions automatically. Together, they
form Intelligent Image Stabilizer.
Venus Engine III in the FX12 allows
high-sensitivity recording up to ISO 1250 at full
resolution with an improved noise reduction system
which maintains high resolution.
Like dates on your pictures? A new
Date Stamp feature allows you to select from Baby
and Pet mode to print the age of a child or pet
by inputting the birthdate in advance.
Battery life is approximately 350
pictures on a single charge (CIPA standard).
The FX12 is compatible with the
optional marine case DMW-MCFX07 which is safe
to a depth of 40 meters.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX12
is an easy-to-use entry-level take-anywhere ultra
compact digital camera with image stabilization.
Depending on your country, it may be available
in black and silver.
The Panasonic FX10 is similar to the FX12, except it has 6.0MP and costs about US $100 less.
