The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS
series is Panasonic's brand-new digital camera models targeting the entry-level point-and-shoot crowd. The Lumix DMC-FS20 features 10.1MP resolution, a 4x wide-angle optical zoom with Image Stabilization, and an extra large 3.0-inch LCD monitor.
Stylish and slim, the Lumix FS20 can be easily carried in a jeans pocket or small fashion purse. The 30mm wide-angle starting focal length is perfect for capturing wide landscapes and large group shots of family and friends.
The FS20 features Intelligent Auto Mode, which is comprised of five functions:
MEGA O.I.S. - Gyrosensors detect camera shake and the lens system shifts to compensate, helping to prevent a blurry image.
Intelligent ISO - With Intelligent ISO, the FS20 determines if the photo subject is moving and change the ISO setting and shutter speed to freeze the subject movement, thus preventing a blurry image.
Intelligent Scene Selector - Intelligent Scene Selector senses the ambient conditions, recognizes the shooting environment and automatically selects the appropriate scene mode from: Scenery, Portrait, Macro, Night Portrait or Night Scenery mode.
Face Detection - Panasonic's Face Detection detects up to 15 faces anywhere in the frame and automatically chooses the optimal focus and exposure settings so portraits come out clear and crisp.
Quick AF - The Quick AF system starts to focus on the subject as soon as you point the camera to the subject, thus minimizing the AF time.
The FS20 also features Intelligent LCD, which detects the lighting condition and adjusts the brightness level of the LCD for optimal clarity.
You can view High Definition 1920 x 1080 pixels images with a 16:9 aspect ratio on your living room's large-screen HDTV by simply inserting an SDHC/SD Memory Card containing your photos into an HDTV equipped with an SDHC/SD Memory Card slot.
The Panasonic Lumix DMC-FS20
is an affordable and easy-to-use take-anywhere ultra compact
digital camera. It is available in Pink, Black and Silver (availability of models and colors may differ depending on the country).
For about US $50 less, you can purchase the Lumix DMC-FS5 which is similar except for a 2.5-in. LCD monitor.
