One of the main attraction of the Olympus Stylus
800 is its All-Weather capability: Strategically
placed seals and gaskets protect the camera from
moisture and dust. Note that it is not waterproof
[for that, you need the Stylus
720 SW].
The Olympus Stylus 800 provides 24 useful shooting
modes, including Aperture-Priority, Shutter-Priority,
manual exposure control and QuickTime (640
x 480) with sound, to get the best results.
A built-in Help GUIDE provides tips to help you
decide which setting is ideal for each situation.
A new Bright Capture Technology allows for enhanced
previewing and image quality in low light. The
flash working range has been enhanced to 21.3
ft. with Program Auto (W), and 42.0 ft. with ISO1600
(W).
PictBridge technology enables photos to be printed
directly from the Olympus Stylus 800 to any PictBridge-enabled
printer.
The Olympus Stylus 800 Digital should
appeal to beginner and serious photographers desiring
a compact, tough, all-weather digital camera with
the famous ease-of-use of the Stylus line of cameras,
now with flexible exposure control.
If you don't need the added exposure flexibility
of Shutter-Priority and Aperture-Priority modes,
check out the Olympus
Stylus 810 Digital for US $50 less.
