The Olympus IR-300 comes in a stylish
and slim durable magnesium body, and forms part
of the Olympus Total Imaging Solution. The Olympus
Total Imaging Solution is personal digital imaging
at its easiest, allowing you to take pictures,
print them (Olympus
P-S100 Printer), and store and save them automatically
(Olympus
S-HD-100 Hard Disk Drive). Coming soon is
the S-DVD-100 DVD/CD Reader/Writer.
The Olympus IR-300 has 5 megapixels resolution,
3x optical zoom and 19 selectable shooting modes
including QuickTime Movie Mode w/Sound, Cuisine,
Fireworks, Candle and more. The Olympus IR-300
does not have a viewfinder but has a large 2.0
in. high-resolution (at 210,000 pixels) Anti-glare
(Semi-transmissive) LCD monitor. A long shutter
speed of 4 sec. allows some night photography;
a Super Macro mode allows you to move in as close
as 5 cm (2 in.).
The Olympus IR-300 is PictBridge-compatible,
allowing direct printing from the camera to a
PictBridge-compatible printer without going through
a PC. As part of the Olympus Total Imaging Solution,
the Olympus IR-300 connects directly to Olympus'
compact S-HD-100 40 GB Hard Drive Storage System
or P-S100 Digital Photo Printer.
The Olympus IR-300 should appeal to those
desiring a fun to use, ultra compact point-and-shoot
digital camera that integrates with a digital
printer and hard drive storage solution.
