Nokia Demonstrates Interactive Ice Touchscreen

Nokia scientists in Finland have demostrated a technique to incorporate computing into everyday objects, in this case, blocks of ice. They project an image on blocks of ice and use near-infrared projectors and cameras to determine the position and movements of a user’s hands passing over the ice blocks. The precise location of the hand is computed and colored lights are then projected at that exact location on the ice blocks.
