Nikon’s First Electronic Camera Cost $20K

Nikon QV-1000C

Nikon QV-1000C

Wow, it was only 23 years ago since Nikon introduced its first filmless and electronic camera, the QV-1000C. It is careful not to call it a digital camera since technically it isn’t one; instead, the Nikon QV-1000C is an analog B&W still video camera with a 380.000 pixel CCD sensor and images are stored on a magnetic two inch video floppy disk.
