The Nikon Coolpix 3700 is stylish in its compact
aluminum body. It is the first Nikon digital camera
that uses the SecureDigital (SD) memory card.
Thanks to the much smaller size of the SD card,
Nikon is able to shave off a few inches from the
Coolpix 3500 that the 3700 is replacing.
The Coolpix 3700 adopts the long rectangular
shape that is very popular and provides more surface
area for a better grip. There is also now a much
welcomed low-light AF assist lamp to help achieve
focus lock in low-light situations.
The Nikon 3700 features 3.2 megapixels resolution,
a 3x optical zoom, macro focus at 1.6 in., and
15 scene modes to cover most picture taking situations.
Shutter speed ranges from 4-1/3,000 sec. Its Zoom
Nikkor lens has only two apertures: F2.8 and F4.9.
The Nikon Coolpix 3700 should appeal to point-and-shoot
photographers.
