Nikon Coolpix S700
Mouseover image for back view

Category: Point-and-Shoot

The Nikon Coolpix S700 has 12.1MP resolution, a 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens with image sensor shift VR and a large 2.7 in. high-resolution (230K pixels) LCD monitor. It has an aluminum metal body.

It has swift response with a power-up time of 0.9 sec. and a shutter lag of only 0.005 sec. when using "Response Priority" mode.

Image Sensor Shift Vibration Reduction (VR) automatically detects and compensates for small camera movements that would otherwise cause images to blur. The result is sharper pictures when shooting in low light. VR also allows you to take advantage of slower shutter speeds (similar to shooting at shutter speeds two to three stops faster).

Nikon's innovative D-Lighting function compensates for underexposed images or insufficient flash by automatically adding light and detail to selected shots where needed -- without affecting properly exposed areas. Nikon's In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically fixes most typical occurrences of red-eye. Face-Priority AF automatically finds and focuses on people’s faces to ensure clear, crisp focus on people's faces.

The Nikon Coolpix S700 should appeal to point-and-shoot amateur photographers who desire a stylish and slim carry-anywhere digital camera with image stabilization.
