Nikon Coolpix S6 Wi-Fi Review

Review Date: July 8, 2006

Nikon Coolpix S6 Wi-Fi

Category: Point-and-Shoot

The Nikon Coolpix S6 is a compact all-metal digital camera with a sleek and stylish Wave Design that fits easily into a pocket or a purse. It has 6MP resolution, a 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor ED lens, an extra large and bright 3.0-in. LCD monitor with a high 230,000 pixels resolution and 170 degree angle of view.

The Nikon S6 accepts the Secure Digital (SD) card and has about 20MB of Internal Memory. New is a One-Touch Portrait Button that automatically activates In-Camera Red-Eye Fix and Face-Priority AF; it also automatically activates D-Lighting in Playback to eliminate overly dark pictures.

Also new is Pictmotion that creates in-camera slide shows with music. Included in the box is a rechargeable EN-EL8 battery (that takes up to 200 pictures on a single charge) and Docking Station. A Rotary Multi-Selector Button makes feature selection fast and easy.

Of course, what really distinguishes the Nikon S6 from other compact digital cameras is the built-in WiFi capability for wireless transfer and printing -- no more messy wires.

The Nikon Coolpix S6 should appeal to point-and-shoot photographers desiring a compact digital camera with wireless capability -- available in Black or Silver.
