The Nikon Coolpix S6 is compact and stylish in its metallic silver or black body with chrome accents and S-curve "Wave Design." It is one of the few digital cameras that features built-in Wi-Fi technology for transfer of images from camera to PC. It is super slim at 21mm (0.8in.) and easily slips into a jeans pocket.

The Nikon S6 features 6.0MP resolution and users will love the huge 3-in. LCD monitor with a high 230,000 pixels resolution. The 3x optical high-quality Zoom-Nikkor ED lens gives a 35mm equivalent of 35-105mm with all lens movement inside the body.

Programmed Auto and 11 easy-to-use Scene Modes (plus 4 Scene Assist modes) simplify shooting, with one of the best Panorama scene mode we've ever used. More advanced photographers will appreciate exposure compensation, Preset (manual) White Balance and up to 99 Manual AF areas. Macro mode allows you to get as close as 4 cm (1.6 in.). Movie mode is 640x480 pixels 30fps, with sound.

Quick startup is fast at about 1 sec. Shutter lag is very slight when photographing in bright conditions, and noticeable as the light level falls. Pre-focusing is recommended. The top controls (Power switch, Shutter-release button, and Zoom control) are on the small side and, if you have large fingers, a "try before you buy" approach is well advised.

A host of in-camera image improvement features include Best Shot Selector, Red-Eye Fix and Face-Priority AF.

Built-in Wi-Fi technology allows wireless transfer of images from your camera to your Wi-Fi enabled PC -- either all the images already stored in your camera or one by one as soon as each is taken. Cable-free printing directly to a PictBridge-compatible printer (without going through a computer) is also possible using the optional PD-10 Printer Adapter.

Included is the COOL-STATION cradle that lets you recharge the battery in-camera, and offers USB connectivity and direct connection for TV display.
