The Nikon Coolpix S4 has 6MP resolution,
a 10x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens and reintroduces
the swivel lens design that made the 9xx series
so popular. The versatile swivel lens allows easy
capture of low angle and above-the-head shots.
The Nikon S4 features a shutter speed range of
2-1/1,000 sec., and has 16 Scene Modes to simplify
shooting in a range of common situations. The
LCD monitor is extra large at 2.5 in., and the
camera runs on only 2 AA batteries.
Nikon's innovative D-Lighting function compensates
for exposure problems by adding light and detail
to dark areas of shots, while keeping brighter
areas just as they are. Nikon's In-Camera Red-Eye
Fix automatically does away with red eyes in-camera.
And Nikon exclusive BSS (Best Shot Selector) selects
and saves the best of a series of several shots.
The Nikon S4 incorporates the Nikon Face Priority
AF* function that uses advanced biometric facial
recognition technology to detect a person's face
at typical portrait taking distances, then automatically
focuses on the face area.
* Face recognition capability may be limited
depending on the shooting conditions.
The Nikon Coolpix S4 should appeal to
point-and-shoot photographers desiring a long
zoom with a unique swivel lens design.
