The Nikon Coolpix S200 features 7.1MP resolution and 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens in a stainless steel body. It is slim enough to fit into a pocket or a purse.

The large 2.5-in. LCD monitor has a high 230,000 pixels resolution. Face-priority AF, In-Camera Red-Eye Fix, D-Lighting and 15 Scene Modes help turn challenging situations into easy ones.

Note that, unlike the S500, the S200 does not have Optical Vibration Reduction (Image Stabilization) but instead has an Electronic Vibration Reduction which processes the image in-camera to simulate the effect of Optical VR.

The Nikon Coolpix S200 should appeal to point-and-shoot photographers desiring a take-anywhere compact digital camera.

For about US $50 more, the Nikon S500 adds Optical Vibration Reduction.
