Nikon Coolpix P80

Nikon Coolpix P80
Mouseover image for back view

Category: Serious Amateur

The Nikon Coolpix P80 has 10.1MP resolution, a 18x wide-angle optical Zoom-Nikkor lens (27-486mm equiv.) and a large 2.7 in. (230K dots) LCD monitor. It now includes Sensor-shift Image Stabilization as well as an electronic version of Vibration Reduction to help reduce blur due to camera shake.

The Nikon P80 provides PASM and 15 Scene Modes. It has an electronic viewfinder (EVF).

D-Lighting function compensates for underexposed images or insufficient flash by automatically adding light and detail to selected shots where needed -- without affecting properly exposed areas. In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically fixes most typical occurrences of red-eye. Face-Priority AF automatically finds and focuses on people’s faces to ensure clear, crisp focus on people's faces. AF Area Mode allows you to manually select the AF target out of 99 AF targets.

The Nikon Coolpix P80 should appeal to serious photographers who desire a full featured wide-angle ultra zoom digital camera with image stabilization.
