Serious
and Advanced Amateur
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 has 13.5MP resolution,
a 4x wide-angle optical Zoom-Nikkor lens (28-112 equiv.) with optical image stabilization and a large 2.7
in. high-resolution (230K pixels) LCD monitor
with wide-viewing angle.
Vibration Reduction (VR) is Nikon's version of optical image stabilization.
VR automatically detects and compensates for small
camera movements that would otherwise cause images
to blur. The result is sharper pictures when shooting
in low light. VR also allows you to take advantage
of slower shutter speeds (similar to shooting
at shutter speeds two to three stops faster).
The Nikon P6000 provides full exposure flexibility
with Programmed Auto, Aperture-Priority, Shutter-Priority
and full Manual modes.
Nikon's innovative D-Lighting function compensates
for underexposed images or insufficient flash
by automatically adding light and detail to selected
shots where needed -- without affecting properly
exposed areas. Nikon's In-Camera Red-Eye Fix automatically
fixes most typical occurrences of red-eye. Face-Priority
AF automatically finds and focuses on peoples
faces to ensure clear, crisp focus on people's
faces.
The Coolpix P600 supports RAW file format, Wired LAN connectivity, built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) that geotags your photos with the exact location of where you shot that picture, manual focus, Wireless Remote Control ML-L3 for wireless shutter release. It has an optical viewfinder and a tough magnesium alloy front panel.
An optional Wide-angle optical
lens Converter realizes a focal length of
22mm (35mm equivalent). The built-in accessory
shoe supports the use of Nikons advanced
i-TTL flash control for external flashes, including
the Speedlight SB-400, SB-600 and SB-800.
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 should appeal
to serious amateur photographers who desire complete control
over the features of their digital cameras.
