This

model. All sample images are unretouched, except
where specified.

Fall Colors
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 is a "pro" level compact consumer digital camera that offers total exposure flexibility in an attractive and durable body. The P6000 has one of the best grip on a compact digital camera. The textured and almost all-black finish give the camera a professional look.
A 4x Zoom-NIKKOR lens with 28mm wide-angle capability and 13.5MP resolution allows the P6000 to capture very good image quality at the low ISOs. RAW file format is available, as a new NRW (RAW) format that can be processed both in-camera and supported by a number of third-party RAW decoders such as Camera Raw 5, Photoshop Lightroom 2 and Aperture 2, but not Capture NX.
Performance is good, though not as fast as some of the competition, with no RAW continuous shooting available. The P6000 is one of the very few digital cameras that features
an optical viewfinder and a real six-blade hexagonal
iris diaphragm.
Wired LAN connectivity allows you to upload pictures from the camera directly to my Picturetown over the Internet. A built-in GPS unit lets you record "geotags" (longitude and latitude) of your shots so you can easily remember where you took those shots.
You can use an external flash and attach an optional wide-angle converter lens. An optional Wireless Remote Control is also available.
The Nikon Coolpix P6000 gives the photographer a quiet feeling of confidence that it can handle any photographic challenge. It will
appeal to the serious amateur photographer desiring
a compact and light digital camera with an effective
image stabilization and full control over camera
operations. The built-in GPS geotagging may be the deciding factor for many photographers.
