Nikon Coolpix L2 Review

Review Date: May 15, 2006

Nikon Coolpix L2
Mouseover image for back view

Category: Point-and-Shoot

The Nikon Coolpix L2 is an ultra-compact digital camera that fits easily into a pocket or a purse. It has 6.0MP resolution, a 3x optical Zoom-Nikkor lens, and a large 2.0-in. LCD monitor.

The Nikon L2 accepts the Secure Digital (SD) card and has about 23MB of Internal Memory. New is a One-Touch Portrait Button that automatically activates In-Camera Red-Eye Fix and Face-Priority AF; it also automatically activates D-Lighting in Playback to eliminate overly dark pictures.

Included in the box are 2 AA Alkaline batteries (that takes up to 180 pictures on a single charge). You can also substitute the Alkaline batteries with longer lasting Oxyride or rechargeable NiMH batteries.

The Nikon Coolpix L2 should appeal to point-and-shoot photographers desiring an affordable, easy-to-use ultra-compact digital camera.

The Nikon Coolpix L3 with 5.1MP resolution is available for about US $50 less.
