Following in the steps of the hugely successful Nikon D70, the new Nikon D70s digital SLR keeps the following features that made the D70 so popular:

  • 6.1 MP resolution for detailed and high-quality images
  • top shutter speed of 1/8000 second and 1/500 second flash sync
  • near-instant power-up of 0.2 sec

Improvements over the D70 include:

  • improved AF for crisper and sharper images
  • more powerful battery
  • built-in i-TTL Speedlight supports wide-angle lenses up to 18mm
  • larger 2 in. LCD monitor (though same 130,000 pixels resolution)
