The Nikon Coolpix 4600 is targeted to
the first-time point-and-shoot photographer. It
features 4.0 MP resolution, 3x optical Zoom, and
scene modes to simplify shooting in a range of
common situations.
A selection of innovative Nikon functions is
included to improve the quality of the image.
Nikon's exclusive D-Lighting function is available
in Playback mode for use on images with excessive
backlight or insufficient flash. At the touch
of a button, D-Lighting keeps bright areas bright,
while automatically adding light and detail to
the darker parts. In-Camera Red-Eye Fix detects
red-eye effect sometimes caused by flash, and
correct it in-camera. Blur Warning alerts the
user of camera shake, allowing another shot to
be taken. A new Underwater Scene mode has been
added for use with the optional waterproof case
WP-CP3 (not available in some countries or areas).
The Nikon 4600 takes movies with no sound.
The Nikon Coolpix 4600 should appeal
to the very first-time point-and-shoot photographers.
