was away on an assignment last week (had to be

and could not update much except on the forums,
but am back now. The review of the Kodak Easyshare
Printer Dock 6000 is posted, and the review of
the Kodak Easyshare DX6490 Zoom, a 4MP, 10x optical
zoom digital camera, will be posted Friday. After
that, we'll go in search of the newly announced

- Ultra-compact digital camera with 4 megapixels
resolution and 3x optical zoom. It boasts a shutter
release time lag of a mere 0.01 seconds. The LCD
is 1.8 in. There are a total of 21 shooting modes,
inclusing Program, Movie (320x240 with sound),
Panorama Assist, 3D, 8 colour digital filters,
a slim digital filter, and scene modes. A waterproof
case is optionally available.
OptioS40
- Ultra-compact digital camera with 4 megapixels
resolution and 3x optical zoom. It has Program
mode, Movie with sound, Voice Recording, Panorama
Assist, 13 scene modes. Digital effects include
a 2-in-1 function that cuts a single frame in
two, allowing two different images to be recorded
side by side [Editor's note: reminds me of some
popular half-frame 35mm film cameras], and a choice
