CENTER VALLEY, Pa., March 11, 2015 – Olympus introduces a successor model in the Stylus SH line of digital cameras, the Olympus Stylus SH-2, featuring a 24x wide-angle optical zoom lens, built-in Wi-Fi connectivity for remote shooting and sharing with a smart device, RAW capture capability, and 5-Axis Image Stabilization that supports both still image and video capture. This sophisticated camera also adds new Nightscape Modes for stunning night scenes and portraits.

The Stylus SH-2 reflects the premium aesthetic of the renowned Olympus PEN^® series of cameras. The SH-2’s top panel and main controls are constructed of aluminum alloy, with superior craftsmanship that is reflected in every detail of the camera, including the lens barrel, dials, and front and rear grips. The camera is available with two finishes: silver for a classic camera feel, and black for an elegant monotone look.

Despite its compact size, the Olympus Stylus SH-2 captures excellent image quality with its 16-megapixel sensor and 24x optical zoom lens, which adjusts from 25mm wide-angle to 600mm telephoto. This camera is also equipped with tele-macro functionality that allows you to capture stunning detail from a distance of up to 40 cm (15.75 inches), perfect for shooting macro images in a variety of settings.

Nightscape Modes allow the user to select from different sub-modes to shoot beautiful night scenes, cityscapes, and star trails. Pressing the movie button while in Nightscape Mode records video with gradation optimized for night scenes. Night + Portrait mode captures flash-illuminated portraits against a dimly-lit background. Night Scene mode uses an extended shutter speed to capture additional light from low-light scenes for bright, vivid images, without the use of a tripod. Fireworks mode expertly shoots high-contrast images from the dark sky. Last but not least, Live Composite and Hand-Held Starlight modes extract the brightest areas from a sequence of interval shots and combine them into one perfectly exposed image.

• Super-telephoto Zoom Camera Combined with Optical 5-axis Image Stabilisation.

The Stylus SH-2 uses a sophisticated image stabilization mechanism, adopted from the Olympus OM-D^® E-M1, as a base for the camera’s integrated 5-Axis Image Stabilization. Combined with the new Nightscape Modes, this system eliminates motion blur that tends to occur when shooting in low light, to deliver crisp, clear images. In addition, 5-Axis Image Stabilization compensates for camera movement that may occur when recording video while walking, rivalling the performance of the latest video cameras.

Configuring the built-in Wi-Fi is a breeze. Sync an iOS^® or Android^® smart device by quickly scanning the QR code displayed on the camera’s 3-inch high-resolution 460,000-dot touch LCD monitor. After that, the SH-2’s Wi-Fi connectivity supports wireless image and video transfers, instant sharing, and remote shooting.

The Olympus Stylus SH-2 is equipped with Advanced Movie Modes for powerful video recording functions, including Full HD 1080p captured at up to 60 frames per second for smooth motion playback of fast action footage. High-Speed Movie stretches scenes in slow (120 fps) or super-slow motion (240 fps), while Time Lapse Movie compresses up to five hours of action into a 20-second time-lapse video. Photo in Movie allows users to shoot still shots – including RAW images – while recording 1080p video, perfect for times when you won’t have a second chance to capture the shot.

CENTER VALLEY, PA, 11 mars 2015 – Olympus annonce le Stylus SH-2 qui succède au premier modèle de la gamme. Il est doté d’un zoom optique grand-angle 24x et intègre la connectivité Wi-Fi pour piloter l’appareil à distance et partager ses images à l’aide d’un téléphone intelligent, la prise photo RAW et la stabilisation d’image sur 5 axes qui fonctionne aussi en vidéo. Cet appareil photo évolué ajoute aussi de nouveaux Modes Nightscape pour des portraits et des scènes de nuit spectaculaires.

Côté esthétique, le Stylus SH-2 propose un design inspiré des légendaires appareils Olympus PEN^®. La partie supérieure du SH-2 ainsi que les commandes principales sont en alliage d’aluminium et on peut noter la construction soignée dans chaque détail de l’appareil incluant le barillet de l’objectif, les molettes et la prise en main. L’appareil est proposé en deux couleurs: argent pour un look classique et noir pour l’élégance monochrome.

En dépit de son format compact, l’Olympus Stylus SH-2 offre une excellente qualité d’image grâce à son capteur de 16 Mégapixels et son zoom optique 24x qui couvre une plage allant du grand-angle de 25 mm au super télé de 600 mm. L’appareil est aussi équipé de la fonctionnalité télé-macro qui permet de capturer des détails étonnants jusqu’à 40 cm (15,75″), ce qui est idéal pour réaliser des images macro dans diverses situations.

Les Modes Nightscape permettent de sélectionner différents sous-modes pour photographier de belles scènes de nuit, des paysages urbains et des traînées lumineuses. Le fait d’appuyer sur la touche Vidéo en Mode Nuit permet de filmer avec une gradation optimisée pour la nuit. Le mode Portrait de nuit offre des personnes éclairées au flash contre un fond faiblement illuminé. Le mode Scène de nuit utilise une longue vitesse d’obturation pour saisir plus de lumière de scènes peu éclairées dans le but d’offrir des images vives sans utilisation de trépied. Le mode Feux d’artifice photographie de façon experte des images à contraste élevé dans un ciel noir. Enfin, les modes Live Composite et Ciel étoilé à main levée extraient toute la lumière des zones les plus lumineuses à partir d’une séquence de photos à intervalle et les combine en une image parfaitement exposée.

Le Stylus SH-2 fait appel à un mécanisme de stabilisation d’image tiré de l’Olympus OM-D^® E-M1, comme base pour la stabilisation intégrée sur 5 axes. Combiné aux nouveaux Modes Nightscape, ce système élimine le flou de bougé qui a tendance à survenir lorsque l’on photographie en faible lumière pour des images claires et nettes. De plus, la stabilisation sur 5 axes compense les mouvements de l’appareil qui risquent de se produire lorsque l’on enregistre en marchant, égalant du coup la performance des dernières caméras vidéo.

Configurer la fonction Wi-Fi intégrée est un jeu d’enfant. Pour synchroniser un appareil intelligent iOS^® ou Android^®, il suffit simplement de scanner le code QR affiché sur l’écran haute résolution de 3″ de 460 000 points. Par la suite, la connectivité Wi-Fi du SH-2 permet les transferts sans-fil d’images et de vidéo, le partage instantané et le pilotage à distance.

L’Olympus Stylus SH-2 est équipé de Modes vidéo avancés dotés de puissantes fonctions d’enregistrement incluant l’enregistrement Full HD 1080p jusqu’à 60 images/s pour une lecture fluide du mouvement lors de scènes d’action rapide. Le mode Vidéo haute vitesse étire les scènes au ralenti (120 ips) ou super-ralenti (240 ips) tandis que la lecture en accéléré Time Lapse compresse jusqu’à cinq heures de prises de vue à intervalle en un clip de 20 secondes. La fonction Photo en vidéo permet de photographier – incluant des images RAW – pendant l’enregistrement vidéo en 1080p, idéal pour les occasions où l’on n’a pas une seconde chance de faire la photo.
