OK, so by now you’ve figured out that taking pictures of the planets in our Solar System, never mind of those further off into deep space, is not as easy as the NASA pictures make it look like.
NASA knows that, too, and so is giving you the opportunity to create your own planet and then take a snapshot of it… right on your computer’s screen. If creating your own planet tempts you, NASA has a new [rather simplistic] interactive online game that allows you to do just that. By adjusting the distance from its star, the star type, the planet’s age and size, you can determine if your planet is habitable [by earth-like creatures] or not. When you’re done playing around with the sliders, click on the little camera icon to take a snapshot of your very own planet.
