Nano Camera Photographs Translucent Objects

MIT’s new nano-camera can take 3-D photos of translucent objects. When light goes through a translucent surface, multiple reflections (for example, of the semitransparent surface and of the wall behind it) are returned to the camera. By using a new multipath time of flight algorithm, the nano-camera is able to properly differentiate between the light reflecting from the semitransparent surface and that from the wall behind it.
