The Minolta DiMAGE Xg combines the best
features of the Xt and X20. It still has 3.2 megapixels
resolution and a 3x optical zoom in a body only
0.8 in. (or 20mm) shirt-pocket thin, and the clever
arrangement with the lens positioned vertically
within the camera means that the lens movement
occurs inside the camera, hence no protruding
optics!
The
Minolta DiMAGE Xg improves upon the Xt with an
even faster start-up time of approximately 0.8
seconds, automatic digital subject program modes,
a larger LCD monitor (1.6-inches), a continuous
advance of 2 frames per second, multi-frame drive,
image pasting, and night movie mode. The DiMAGE
Xg is also PictBridge compatible, meaning it can
print photos directly to a PictBridge-compliant
printer (any brand) without having to go through
a personal computer.
Minolta
has positioned the DiMAGE Xg as strictly a point-and-shoot
digital camera: the DiMAGE Xg has only Programmed
AE exposure control. An optional Marine Case MC-DG300
allows you to take the camera down as far as 98
feet underwater.
