Beginner to Serious Amateur
The Konica Minolta DiMAGE Z5 is an upgrade
from the Z3, now featuring 5MP resolution. It
still has a whopping 12x optical zoom, the unique
CCD Anti-Shake System, and a Rapid Focus system
for short shutter lag times at both wide-angle
(focusing at 0.2 sec.) and telephoto focal lengths
(focusing at 0.3 sec.).
The Konica Minolta Z5 retains the distinctive
futuristic look, with clean and smooth rounded
lines and corners. It has fast operations, and
provides flexible exposure control. Those who
wear glasses will welcome the diopter control
on the electronic viewfinder, which covers about
100% of the frame. The Real Motion LCD monitor
is now larger at 2 in. The Anti-Shake System is
an image stabilization system that works on the
CCD image sensor instead of a lens element; its
main function is to reduce camera shake at long
focal lengths and slow shutter speeds.
The Konica Minolta Z5 retains a Super Macro mode
that allows focusing as close as 1 cm (0.4 in.).
An optional wide-angle Converter ZCW-300 provides
a 35mm equivalent of 26mm wide-angle shooting.
The Konica Minolta Z5 is full-featured and, like
the Z3 before it, will appeal to soccer moms and
wildlife photographers, both beginner and serious
amateur photographers, who desire an ultra zoom
digital camera with easy point-and-shoot as well
as flexible exposure control -- now with Anti-Shake!
