When
I was at University (UT @ Austin), I traded my
point-and-shoot for a Minolta SRT100b SLR. A good
friend did not know how to use the more complex
SLR and loved the ease of use of the point-and-shoot,
so we swapped cameras. It was my first SLR. This
was the second time I used a Minolta camera. The
first time, my cousin bought one of those small
rectangular shaped cameras that took a cartridge
110mm film. Come to think of it, they're sized
like today's elongated compact digital cameras,
except that the orientation is switched. Anyway,
it was a Minolta and I was impressed with the
clarity of the viewfinder, the ease of use, and
the quality of the pictures.
Later,
I fell in love with the simple elegance and clean
lines of the Minolta XE-1. Minolta digital cameras
and optics are among the best, and they have a
loyal following. Click on a model in the drop
