The Leica D-Lux 3 is a rebranding of the
Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX2 and replaces the D-Lux
2. It now has 10.4MP resolution in a compact and
elegantly designed all black or silver body, 4x
optical zoom with a 28 to 112mm wide-angle capability
(35mm equivalent) that should allow capturing
more of a scene (or group shot) than standard
35mm lens is capable of, and sensitivity up to
ISO 1600.
The Leica D-Lux 3 has a 60-1/2,000
sec. shutter speed range (in Manual mode), Scene
Modes to automate exposure setting in various
situations, an extra wide 2.8 in. high resolution
(207K pixels) LCD monitor, and of course the image
stabilized lens. Macro focus is at 5 cm (2 in.).
The Leica D-Lux 3 has full exposure
flexibility with Program AE, Aperture Priority
AE, and full Manual. It can save images in the
RAW file format.
The Leica D-Lux 3 is targeted
to serious amateur photographers desiring a compact
digital camera, yet packed with professional features
such as full exposure flexibility, a wide-angle
lens, fast operations, and image stabilization.
