The Leica C-Lux 1 is a rebranding
of the Panasonic Lumix DMC-FX01. It has 6.0MP
resolution in an ultra-compact and elegantly designed
black and silver -- or all silver -- body -- minus
the add-on clip that serves as a handgrip on the
Panasonic FX01. It features a 3.6x optical zoom
with a 28 to 102mm wide-angle capability (35mm
equivalent) that should allow capturing more of
a scene (or group shot) than standard 35mm lens
is capable of.
The Leica C-Lux 1 has a 8-1/2,000
sec. shutter speed range (depending on exposure
modes), Scene Modes to automate exposure setting
in various situations, an extra large 2.5 in.
high resolution (207K pixels) LCD monitor, and
of course image stabilization that all Panasonic
digital cameras have popularized. Macro focus
is at 5 cm (2 in.) at wide-angle.
