The Kodak Easyshare Printer Dock 6000
is the perfect companion to your Kodak Easyshare
digital camera. Just dock your camera and press
print for quality borderless 10 x 15 cm (4 x 6
in.) photos. Its dimensions with the photo tray
is 198.3W x 157.8H x 411D mm (7.8W x 6.2H x 16D
in.) and its weight is 1057 g (34 oz.).
The Printer Dock 6000 performs four functions:
It conveniently recharges your Easyshare digital
camera's battery (in about 3 hrs).
It transfers the pictures in your Easyshare
digital camera's memory card with a simple press
of the Transfer button (works with KODAK EASYSHARE
CX/DX 6000/7000 and LS 600/700 Series Cameras).
It allows you to view a digital slide show
on your TV at the press of the Slide Show button.
Use the right and left arrow keys to select
a picture in your Easyshare digital camera's
memory card, then press the Print button. The
PD 6000 prints 10x15 cm (4x6 in.) photos in
four passes with one colour deposited on each
pass (Yellow, Magenta and Cyan), and a protective
waterproof laminate on the last pass. The PD
6000 uses continuous tone thermal dye transfer,
with each 4x6 in. photo taking about 120 seconds
to print direct from camera or 90 sec. if printing
from your PC.
If you print directly from your camera, there
is nothing to install. To print from your PC,
you need to install the Easyshare Printer Dock
6000 printer driver software. Then from the Easyshare
application, you go into Setup to select the PD
6000 as your default printer.
I printed a dozen or so 4x6 in. borderless prints
using images that I took with the 4MP Kodak
Easyshare DX6490 Zoom digital camera, and
they came out looking great. I printed direct
from the DX6490 as well as from my PC. I even
printed images from my PC I previously took from
a non-Kodak digital camera.
The kit comes with a colour cartridge, sample
photo paper for 10 photos, PC-to-Printer USB cable,
and Audio/Video cable. (Note: I did not receive
an AV cable with my review kit so was not able
to test the TV slide show feature.)
