Kodak V705 Dual Lens Review

Category: Point-and-Shoot
The Kodak EasyShare V705 Dual Lens follows
in the footsteps of the EasyShare
V570 Dual Lens with 7.1 megapixel resolution
and the same unique KODAK RETINA Dual Lens Technology:
the upper lens is a fixed 23mm ultra wide-angle
and the lower one a 3.0x 39117 mm optical
zoom, giving a total of 5x optical zoom [if you
ignore the gap between the 23mm and 39mm focal
lengths].
The Kodak V705 features an extra large 2.5-in.
LCD screen that displays your captured images
with a high 230,000 pixels resolution. And, new,
it is now available in 3 different colours.

Absolute Pink, Silver
Essence, Midnight Black
In addition to the ultra wide-angle coverage,
Kodak has incorporated a new Panoramic feature
that allows in-camera stitching of 3 images to
produce a 180° image.
So what is the advantage of a 23mm ultra wide-angle
lens on a consumer digital camera? The coverage
is incredible. If you are always complaining you
cannot include all your family members or friends
in one group shot; if you find it difficult to
take a picture of a whole building without having
to back off so much that you are intruding into
someone else's property; if you take frequent
real-estate interior shots that just don't show
off enough of the rooms... then you should check
out the Kodak EasyShare V705.
Note: We placed the Kodak V705 into the ultra-compact
category because it is quite thin (0.8 in.) and
easily slips into a jeans pocket. Be aware, though,
that it is wider than most ultra-compact digital
camera.
