Oscar
The Kodak EasyShare V610 Dual Lens is
an ultra zoom digital camera with ultra compact
dimensions. The elegant compact digital camera
comes with two quality SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH C-VARIOGON
lenses: a regular 38-114mm 3x optical zoom lens,
plus a second 130-380mm 2.9x optical zoom lens
that in effect gives a total of 10x optical zoom
and make the V610 "the world's smallest 10x
optical zoom digital camera."
If you've ever tried street photography, or tried
to take pictures of pets, you know that you want
to be as inconspicuous as possible and not get
physically too close so as not to disturb "the
moment."
Now, with Kodak V610's ultra-tele 380mm lens,
you can get real "close and personal"
while staying quite a distance away. And if your
subject notices you pointing a small compact digital
camera in their general direction, they might
think you're too far away to get much of a shot.
The Kodak V610 is a Point-and-Shoot camera with
Auto (Programmed Auto) mode, easy-to-use Scene
Modes, and everything designed with the beginner
in mind. Image quality is good to very good at
ISO 64, and average at higher ISOs.
The Kodak V610 is compact enough to fit in your
pocket, though its elongated shape means that
it is a bit wider than most digital cameras. Those
with large hands would want to try out its small
control buttons first, though I did not experience
any problem using them.
An extra large 2.8 in. LCD monitor with 230,000
pixels high resolution and a wide viewing angle
makes viewing pictures easy. Your telephoto needs
covered, what about wide-angle coverage? Though
the shortest focal length is a standard 38mm,
the unique panorama stitching makes it very easy
to take 2 or 3 shots and have the camera stitch
them together in-camera on the spot. "Wide-angle"
shots have never been easier.
The Kodak V610 is part of Kodak's EasyShare series
which makes it simple to produce 4x6 in. borderless
prints using the optional Printer Dock Plus Series
3 at a touch of a button. Built-in BLUEOOTH technology
means that you can conveniently transfer and print
images without using a cable to a BLUETOOTH-enabled
PC and printer.
The Kodak EasyShare V610 Dual Lens is
overall a fun digital camera that will allow you
to take great pictures. Maybe not the best as
far as image quality is concerned, but for a take-anywhere
[where larger ultra zoom might be frowned upon]
point-and-shoot, 10x optical zoom in your pocket
is worth its weight in gold.
