Kodak EasyShare P850 Zoom

Mouseover for back view

Category: Serious Amateur

The Kodak EasyShare P850 Zoom is part of Kodak's new "Performance Series." Targeted to the serious and advanced amateur photographers, the Kodak P850 features 5.1MP resolution; a 12X professional-quality SCHNEIDER-KREUZNACH VARIOGON Optical Zoom Lens with image stabilization; the ability to save images in the RAW file format; live histogram in record mode; and full exposure flexibility.

It sports an extra large 2.5 in. LCD monitor and a high resolution electronic viewfinder (EVF). You can get as close as 10 cm (3.9 in.) to your subject for macro photography.

Movies are captured at 640 × 480 pixels at 30 fps, with the capability to zoom during movie capture and image stabilization to prevent jitters. Shutter speed rages from 1/2 sec. to 1/1000 sec. in Auto mode with the ability to go as slow as 16 sec. in Manual mode. It has a hot shoe flash connector and accepts the optional P20 Zoom Flash.

The Kodak EasyShare P850 will appeal to serious and advanced amateur photographers who desire a long zoom digital camera with image stabilization and full exposure flexibility -- and as easy-to-use as Kodak EasyShare digital cameras have earned the reputation to be.

If you'd rather have a true wide-angle lens coverage instead of a long zoom, check out the Kodak EasyShare P880 with a 24mm wide-angle lens, 5.8x optical zoom, and blazingly fast 1/4000 sec. shutter speed.
