No
one captures color the way Fujifilm does it in
its digital cameras, and the new FinePix 410 does
this superbly using Fuji's 4th Generation Super
CCD HR image sensor. This 3.1 megapixels digital
camera features 3x optical zoom, a F2.8 maximum
aperture, and shutter speeds from 1/4 - 1/2,000
sec. We previously featured its predecessor, the
F401, a 2 megapixels camera, because we really
liked it (we usually covers only digital cameras
3 megapixels and above). So, we are especially
happy that the F410 with its 3.1 megapixels is
finally here. One difference from the F401 is
that the F410 now uses the xD-Picture card instead
of SmartMedia.
The FinePix F410 is a compact camera at 3.3 (W)
x 2.7 (H) x 1.1 (D) in. and weighs in at 5.8 oz
(6.9 oz including battery and xD-Picture Card).
At 2.7 (H) in. it's a little bit higher than we'd
like, but we're going to award it our JeansPocket
Certified label anyway.
Take
note that Fuji does not include a battery charger,
a soft case, or the picture cradle as standard
equipment (we believe these should have been standard
equipment, and encourage Fuji to rethink its policy);
these are all optional equipment that you might
want to negotiate with the vendor before you buy.
Since
the FinePix F410 lacks a low-light focus-assist
AF, we recommended it mostly for sunny outdoors
photography. If you're looking for an easy to
use point-and-shoot compact, palm-sized digital
camera which gives superb true skin tone reproduction,
be sure to try out the FinePix F410.
