The Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd (S6500fd
in Europe) is the first Fujifilm FinePix product
to feature Face Detection technology, which
will quickly identify up to 10 human subjects'
faces in real time.
It has 6.3 megapixels resolution using the 6th
Generation Super CCD-HR Technology which is
able to provide a high ISO 3200 for extended low-light
capability [the Real Photo Technology features
double noise reduction]. It puts this expanded
low-light capability to good use in its Picture
Stabilization Technology which will favour
a high ISO so a fast enough shutter speed can
be used to reduce or eliminate blur due to camera
shake and subject motion.
Aperture ranges from F2.8 to F11, and shutter
speed ranges from 30 sec. to a fast 1/4,000 sec.
It has an extra large 2.5-in. LCD monitor with
a high resolution of 235,000 pixels.
The Fujifilm S6000fd sports a 28-300mm
10.7x wide-angle optical zoom with manual control
via a Zoom Ring around the lens barrel. It provides
the most desirable focal lengths photographers
desire: a 28mm wide-angle for large group shots
and wide landscapes as well as a 300mm telephoto
to bring far away subjects close.
The Fujifilm S6000fd continues to use
popular (4) AA alkaline batteries as its power
source. Movie recording with sound is at 640x480
30fps. 15 scene modes make picture-taking easy.
A new i-Flash Intelligent Flash works
in tandem with high sensitivity settings to preserve
natural skin tones. If you are not sure whether
to use flash in a particular situation, an original
Dual Shot Mode will take 2 pictures, one
with flash and the other without.
The Fujifilm S6000fd is PictBridge-compatible
for direct printing without a PC.
The Fujifilm FinePix S6000fd will
appeal to beginner to serious (as well as point-and-shoot)
photographers desiring an easy-to-use long zoom
with Fujifilm's famous expanded low-light capability.
Think of it as a F30 in the body of an ultra zoom.
