THE FUJIFILM FINEPIX S1000fd IS THE WORLD'S SMALLEST 10MP 12X LONG ZOOM DIGITAL CAMERA (as of January 2008). It features 12x optical zoom with a 33mm-396mm (35mm equiv.) reach and full exposure flexibility with Program AE, Aperture-Priority, Shutter-Priority and Manual modes.
Picture Stabilization automatically adjusts shutter speed and sensitivity
(up to ISO 1600) to prevent blur caused by camera shake and/or subject movement. The S1000fd lacks mechanical image stabilization.
The FinePix S1000fd features 10MP resolution on a 1/ 2.3-inch CCD image sensor. Face Detection can detect up to 6 faces at a time. A new in-camera Panorama Shooting Mode captures and combines max 3 consecutive shots, which are saved to the memory card as a panoramic picture.
The FinePix S1000fd automatically detects and corrects red-eye reflections. Other features include a large 2.7-in. LCD (230K dots) and Micro Thumbnail View. It accepts xD-Picture
Card as well as Secure Digital (SD/SDHC) memory cards and uses 4 AA batteries.
The Fujifilm FinePix S1000fd provides photographic control with PASM functions and will
therefore appeal to beginner as well as serious photographers desiring an affordable ultra zoom with full exposure flexibility.
