EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This
Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR Review is based on a production
model. All sample images are unretouched, except
where specified.

The Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR innovates by offering the ability to capture images with a wide dynamic range. With its 28mm wide-angle lens, 5x optical zoom, sensor-shift image stabilization, low light capability, and now wide dynamic range, the F200EXR sets a new bar for competitors to follow. Noise is low from ISO 100 to 200 and usable
at ISO 400 and 800.
Leave the camera on EXR AUTO and not only will it automatically select the appropriate scene mode, but it will also automatically switch between the three EXR sensor modes: it will decide whether to capture a picture in full 12M detail when the lighting is good, switch to 6M and capture low noise images in low light situations, or take 2 shots and blend them together to ensure that detail in both shadows and highlights is preserved in a 6M picture. Automatic scene recognition and automatic sensor switching means you can expect every shot to be optimized for the scene.
The Fujifilm FinePix F200EXR is a compact take-anywhere digital camera that
will impress by
its excellent image quality, low-light
capability, and now the ability to take pictures with a wide dynamic range. Full Manual
mode is available for those who desire a bit more control.
