Early Mixed News About Apple’s Thursday Event

The news leaking out of Apple are mixed. Early rumors were that Apple was going to announce an iTunes for textbooks that would have instantly converted all schools to using the iPad instead of Netbooks — and usher in the long awaited digital revolution in education. But alas, it looks like this is not going to happen at Thursday’s “Big Apple” event.

However, it’s not all bad news. Apple is expected to announced a “GarageBand for e-book” to make e-book publishing easier. For who, we ask? It’s not everyday’s Joe who writes textbook. But maybe, they will be able to do so now — unleashing a fury of teachers across the nation as they address the woefully inadequate state of textbooks. Is this last sentence good English?

Great news. Netbooks for my iPad instead textbooks is very good idea.
