How to Hack A Call Center

Fri August 14, 2009

Ever felt frustrated trying to call customer support for help? Tired of going thru all the silly and annoying recorded messages? Here’s a video on how to bypass the silicon-based life forms and go directly to a carbon-based life form. It applies more to the UK, but the principles apply to US and Canada, too. Whitney Houston – I Look To You

Wed August 12, 2009

I’m a big fan of Whitney Houston and just bought her new song “I look to you,” written by R. Kelly. The short sample track on Amazon.com is simply too short to do her justice, but the full version just blows you away. Simply beautiful! The voice is deeper, more mature, and tempered by the past events in her life.

You can pre-order her new album now, download the song “I Look To You” immediately, and download the rest when they become available August 31 / September 1.

Welcome back, Whitney!

You can listen to the full track of her song on Whitney’s official site and on YouTube.

Man first walked on the Moon July 20, 1969

Mon July 20, 2009

On July 16, 1969, 40 years ago, Apollo 11 blasted off the Kennedy Space Center on its way to the Moon with Neil A. Armstrong (commander), Michael Collins (command module pilot) and Edwin E. Aldrin Jr. (lunar module pilot) on board.

On July 20, history was made when the Eagle lunar module (LM) landed on the Moon. “HOUSTON, TRANQUILITY BASE HERE. THE EAGLE HAS LANDED.” As Neil Armstrong stepped off the LM, the world hear him say, “That’s one small step for man; one giant leap for mankind.”

Besides a TV camera, small-film cameras, and a special camera for near-distance stereoscopic shots of the moon, there were also three Hasselblad 500ELs.

Affixed to the leg of the lunar landing vehicle (which was left behind) is a plaque bearing a map of the Earth and this inscription:

HERE MEN FROM THE PLANET EARTH
FIRST SET FOOT UPON THE MOON
JULY 1969 A.D.
WE CAME IN PEACE FOR ALL MANKIND

A Wolf Loves Pork

Mon July 13, 2009

Olympus has admitted that its 50th Anniversary of the PEN digital YouTube movie was inspired by one “dokugyunyu” who posted his “A Wolf Loves Pork” stop-motion film about one month earlier:

Some of the comments we have read here suggest that we should mention the creator of “A wolf loves pork”, Mr Takeuchi Taijin.
While we were looking for a way to realise a story describing “a journey through time” based on printed images, we were inspired by Mr Taijin’s brilliant work. For this reason we intentionally quoted his work in our little movie while showing full respect to his original idea. We didnt mention his name because we did not want to do so without his prior agreement.
However after considering some of the comments posted here we have decided to add credits to him and his work, which we obviously absolutely love.

The Anti-Paparazzi Device

Paparazzis may find their “job” getting a bit tougher soon. In what can be billed as the anti-Paparazzi device, a LED flash with a photo sensor simply detects a camera’s flash and fires back a burst that, for all purposes, ruin the photo.

New York University graduate student Adam Harvey is the genial inventor of this device that we believe will pretty much sell like hot cake.

Philips Carousel Commercial

Tue June 30, 2009

Here’s a cool “movie” of a (3-D) “still” photograph. Why all the words between quotes? Watch the video and it will all become clear! The YouTube version is below, but it’s best watched in its full HD glory.
