The Canon PowerShot SX100 IS is a new ultra zoom digital camera model from Canon. It features 8.0MP resolution, a 10x optical zoom lens with built-in optical image stabilization, Face Detection technology (with Face Selector capability), and a large 2.5-inch LCD. Think of it as a "A" series Canon digital camera with a long zoom.

Besides full exposure flexibility with Auto, Program, Shutter-Priority, Aperture-Priority and Manual modes, the PowerShot SX100 IS also has special easy-to-use Scene Modes that include Portrait, Landscape, Night Scene, Sports, and Kids & Pets.

Movie can be shot at 640 x 480 pixels @ 30fps for a 1 hour or 4GB clip at one time.

If you like the Canon A Series (some of the best value for money you can get), the the Canon SX100 IS with its long zoom and image stabilization will be of interest. Beginner and serious amateur photographers alike who desire a digital camera to learn and grow with will appreciate the availability of full exposure flexibility at an affordable price.
