Category: Point-and-Shoot

The Canon PowerShot SD850 IS Digital ELPH / Digital IXUS 950 IS is a compact digital camera with an elegant stainless steel "Perpetual Curve" design. It features Image Stabilizer technology to reduce camera shake and continues Canon’s tradition of providing top-tier imaging technology in a slim, compact and easy-to-use package.

The Canon SD850 IS has 8.0 megapixels resolution and features 4x optical zoom. Unfortunately it loses the 28mm wide-angle lens on the SD800 IS and instead the lens starts at a standard 35mm.

There is a large 2.5-in. LCD with 230,000 pixels resolution and wide viewing angle for easier on-camera viewing. The LCD also has a protective cover (stain-proof fluorine coating, scratch-proof hard coating).

Face Detection FE technology ensures the subject's face will be in focus and properly exposed, even when using flash. The Auto ISO shift feature is enabled merely by pressing the Print/Share button and will raise the ISO speed to record at a shutter speed that avoids the effects of camera shake.

The Canon SD850 IS allows you to shoot a clip of 640x480 movie at 30fps until the SD memory card is full (4GB clips at a time or 1 hour, whichever is reached first). Take night pictures with a long shutter speed of 15 sec., and Scene Modes automate exposure settings for 10 different shooting situations.

The Canon Powershot SD850 IS Digital ELPH is a perfect high resolution compact, take-anywhere digital camera.
