The Canon PowerShot SD1100 IS Digital ELPH /
DIGITAL IXUS 80 IS bucks the trend towards the
curved designs of the Digital ELPH series we are
more familiar with. Instead, in a look back to
the original ELPH design, the SD1100 is a clean-lined,
fully flat, compact and slim rectangular box that has a
classic appeal uniquely its own.
The Canon SD1100 has 8.0 megapixels resolution,
3x optical zoom with Image Stabilization, a F2.8 maximum aperture, and
a shutter speed range of 15-1/1,500 sec.
An enhanced Face Detection system can select and track a face within a certain range. AF-Point Zoom allows you to zoom the display of the AF frame to check focus when shooting or right after taking a shot. Face Detection AF/AE/FE/WB detects a face, sets focus on the face for a sharp picture, adjusts exposure, white balance and ensures the face is correctly illuminated when the flash fires. Red-Eye Correction automatically detects and corrects red eyes when the flash fires.
There is a large high-resolution 2.5-in. LCD screen
(230K dots) with wide viewing angle. The Canon SD1100 allows you to shoot a clip of
640x480 movie at 30fps until the SD memory card
is full (4GB clips at a time or 1 hour of shooting).
A Direct Print Button allows direct printing from camera to a PictBridge-enabled printer. The MENU button provides intuitive access to all the functions of the camera.
Motion Detection Technology detects camera shake, brightness of subject and background, and movement of face and subject. By consolidating and analyzing these parameters, it adjusts the intelligent ISO speed to reduce the effects of camera shake and subject movement.
In Auto ISO, the camera favours a lower ISO to ensures the highest image quality.
The Canon Powershot SD1100 Digital ELPH
