The Canon PowerShot SD1000 Digital ELPH /
IXUS 70 DIGITAL bucks the trend towards the
curved designs of the Digital ELPH series we are
more familiar with. Instead, in a look back to
the original ELPH design, the SD1000 is a clean-lined,
fully flat and slim rectangular box that has a
classic appeal uniquely its own.
The Canon SD1000 has 7.1 megapixels resolution,
3x optical zoom, a F2.8 maximum aperture, and
a shutter speed range of 15-1/1,500 sec. There
is a large high-resolution 2.5-in. LCD screen
(230K) with tough scratch-resistant coating. The
screen is anti-reflective for easy viewing in
sunny situations and also features Night Display
for easy viewing in low light.
The Canon SD1000 allows you to shoot a clip of
640x480 movie at 30fps until the SD memory card
is full (4GB clips at a time or 1 hour of shooting).
Auto ISO Shift makes selecting a higher ISO simply
a press of a button when the camera shake warning
icon displays. The Print/Share button can also
be customized to a frequently used function. Face
Detection now detects smaller faces.
The Canon Powershot SD1000 Digital ELPH
is available in two colour choices: silver and
silver with black.
