Canon PowerShot S1 IS Review

Review Date: Dec 4, 2004

Canon PowerShot S1 IS

Category: Beginner to Serious Amateur

Speed and silence. The Canon PowerShot S1 IS features a high-speed zoom motor that allows you to zoom in close with its 10x optical zoom in near silence. It has 3.2 megapixels resolution and a maximum aperture of F2.8. Shutter speeds range from a long 15 sec. to a fast 1/2,000 sec.

The Canon S1 differentiates itself from other 10x optical zoom cameras with image stabilization technology that prevents camera shake at the maximum 10x optical zoom range.

A 1.5 in. Vari-Angle LCD means that you can shoot from any angles. There is an electronic viewfinder EVF.

The Canon S1 accepts both CompactFlash type I and II memory cards. With full exposure flexibility, it is most suited to beginner and serious amateur photographers looking for an ultra zoom digital camera with image stabilization.
