I don’t know who programmed the camera in the space probe Cassini but the latter is taking spectacular pictures of Saturn and its moons.

Famous WWII Nurse’s Passing Reminds of Importance of LIFE Photos

The recent passing of Edith Shain, the WWII nurse in Alfred Eisenstaedt’s famous LIFE photo, reminds us that the iconic photos that shaped the 20th Century–allowing us “to see life; to see the world; to eyewitness great events … to see things thousands of miles away…”–chronicle history better than any textbook ever could. For the first time ever, LIFE is making those original, iconic photos available, offering them at public auction now through July 9.

Bohemia, NY (PRWEB) June 29, 2010 — Partnering with Lelands.com, LIFE magazine is making available rare, original images that have graced the pages of the magazine, via Lelands’ current “Images of LIFE” Auction, now through July 9.

“We are always evaluating new opportunities to market and celebrate our famed photo collection, and are excited to engage Lelands for their online auction experience,” says Jeff Burak, Director of Business Development for LIFE.

Who Would You Rather Win The World Cup?

Wed June 30, 2010

OK, I am in a quandary. Let’s just say that, on Saturday, Argentina beats Germany and Paraguay wins over European Champion Spain. Argentina and Paraguay will then meet in the semi-finals (July 07) and the winner will move on to the final (July 11) facing either The Netherlands or Brazil (let’s say).

Larissa Riquelme [the one on the left in the picture above, just in case you didn't know], a model who loves her national team, has been cheering the Paraguay squad and the 24-year-old has pledged to run naked through the streets “with my body painted with the colors of Paraguay” if Paraguay wins the World Cup.

Wait a minute. Just last month, Argentina’s 49-year-old coach Diego Maradona [yeah, the one on the right in the picture above] was the first prominent person to issue such a guarantee.

Now, with a Paraguay vs. Argentina semi-finals (let’s say), who would you want to win that match and eventually the world cup? Even if you are an ardent fan of Argentina, check out the pictures of the two protagonists before you answer.

Check out the pictures of Diego Maradonna.

Then answer the poll below: Which team do you want to think will win the World Cup?

Samsung NX10

I have to honestly admit that I was skeptical about the Samsung NX10 when the camera was announced. The doubts all quickly disappeared during the test.
