Look carefully and you will find that the butterfly in this video is an artificial one created by Japanese researchers to prove that flight can be realised with simple flapping motions without feedback control.

Forget about finger flicking, zooming and page turning. What we really want is a gesture-based user-interface à-la-Minority Report. And this may not be as far away as you think. MIT researchers Robert Wang and Jovan Popović have developed a prototype system that uses a standard webcam and a simple multicolored Lycra glove which looks like something a Cirque du Soleil performer would be wearing.

Gaming will never be the same (I wonder who will bring it to us first?).

Sports Illustrated showed off today at Google I/O a prototype of their online edition, which they dubbed as “Developed in HTML5″. We give it a Fail.
