Epson HTPS TFT Color Panel

Seiko Epson has announced volume production of its new color panel for electronic viewfinders (EVFs). The new panels offer SVGA resolution and are targeted at camera manufacturers for use as electronic viewfinders in mid- to high-end digital SLR cameras.

Think what this means: Optical viewfinders replaced by very high resolution EVFs => The reflex mirror is no longer necessary anymore.

Interesting development and we know 2 companies that have already done just that.

Will the DSLR soon become known simply as DSL? [Some people still object to the use of the "R" ("reflex") part since there is no mirror. ]
