National Geographic International Photography Contest 2009 begins 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, August 5, 2009.

Contest is open only to legal residents of the fifty (50) United States (excluding Arizona, New Jersey and Vermont) and the District of Columbia, United Kingdom, Canada (excluding the province of Quebec), Australia, Republic of Ireland, India, South Africa and New Zealand who have reached the age of majority in their jurisdiction of residence at the time of entry.

The first-place winner in each Category will each receive a digital camera kit. Approximate Retail Value (“ARV”) of each first-place prize is U.S. $1,000.

Deadline: October 31, 2009, 11:59:00 p.m. U.S. Eastern Time (“ET”)

Canadian Geographic presents the 25th Annual Photo Contest celebrating the natural beauty of our country.

You could win
Submit your best photos in any of our five categories and you could have them published in Canadian Geographic, win a nine-day Maple Leaf adventure cruise vacation for two, a Nikon D5000, an Epson scanner and other fabulous prizes!
